A Leader for Lake County
Paras has always led the charge to help his community. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Paras began his career as a field organizer on a congressional campaign. From there he worked as a staff member in Washington D. C. to a progressive Democratic member of the Congress. He then later served as a planning commissioner in his hometown of Ann Arbor.
Now, he resides in Highland Park with his wife Shruti and their twins Reya and Eshaan. In 2017 he was elected a Trustee for West Deerfield Township which encompasses areas of Lake Forest, Deerfield, Highland Park, Bannockburn, and Lincolnshire. As a Trustee he stayed firm against raising taxes and still finding ways to impact on our neighbors with the most needs.
Now, he is excited to forge a new path and serve the people of Lake County. When elected Paras would be the first-ever Asian American Lake County Board Member.
As a former planning commissioner and current Trustee of West Deerfield Township, Paras not only has the experience to get things done, but he brings a new, bold, and principled perspective to the Lake County Board.
